It seems Google is planning to go the Apple way!

According to reports, Google is currently working on two Android smartwatches. Codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish, both the smart watches are rumored to have round displays and sleek bands.

While Swordfish is reported to be the smaller and slimmer one with a 42mm screen and no GPS or LTE facilities, Angelfish will be a bigger version with a 43.5mm screen and will have a premium finish called Titanium and design that includes interchangeable bands, built-in heart rate sensor, Google assistant and GPS & LTE facilities, making it a perfect match for fitness-conscious users.

However, it is still not clear whether the smartwatches like the phones before would be a Nexus product or would they be released under a different name. What is evident is that if indeed this is true, then it could pose as a huge challenge for Apple, which is currently reigning in the smartwatch territory.

Market analysts reveal that Apple watch’s market share today stands around 80% and one of the analysts, Neil Cybart stated that when estimated, Apple’s wearables division alone could be worth almost around US $10 billion. This figure is almost unbelievable considering the fact that the technology giant launched its first smartwatch in April 2015, not very long ago.

And Google clearly aims to invade this comfortable zone of the company with its upcoming innovation. Its first release- Angelfish will also come with a smooth case that will curve where the watch band meets the hand and since it will be the bigger one of the two, it will have a larger battery with better battery life.

Rumour or not, in the end, it is a win-win situation for the users and it will be interesting to see the two tech giants battling it out in the market. The unveiling date of these watches is yet to be revealed.
