Third time lucky proved to be accurate for us at Day 3 of AIFW16 with the SHOWSTOPPER element perfectly satiating the palettes of our celeb-hungry guests!

The stunning Aditi Rao Hydari graced the runway with her enigmatic presence as she walked for Shruti Sancheti’s ‘PINNACLE’ while Randeep Hooda cast an aristocratic vibe as he walked in looking like a modern maharaja in a Rohit Kamara ensemble.

It also ushered in a breath of versatility and freshness with the first ever accessory and menswear shows being unveiled at AIFW16 attracting a hoard of audience. We were particularly enticed by Nitya Arora’s dramatic accessory collection which got us mentally sorting out outfits to mix and match it with for the approaching wedding seasons that looms large over our country.

Anupama Dayal transported us into the Utopia of Nagaland with theatrical headgear decorated with horns, feathers and mother of pearls sitting atop the heads of the models. We were also particularly enamored by Reynu Tandon’s exotic Boho collection with underlying tribal notes that got us dreaming of summery days out at Coachella and Music festivals alike.

The audience was in for visual delight as armies of virile Greek Gods came strutting down the ramp donning regal ensembles created by 8 of the most coveted Indian menswear designers which sent the guests gasping away!

The buzz of activity at the exhibit area has also intensified and many claimed to have done some business among the glamour. Buyers, a lot of them from the Middle East were seen at the booths and for the designers these buyers are important visitors as the region is a focus market for many. A constant milieu of designers, models, fashion enthusiast and sponsors kept the venue active.

Fitbit, one of the promoters of the fashion extravaganza organized an after-party flocked by models, bloggers and designers alike to celebrate the 3 day success story, encourage networking and also to lighten up the atmosphere that surrounded the business of Fashion events alike!
