This Indian Kid is a Baking Genius!
Creativity has no age bar and category! Sometimes, even a kid can do things that can make people sit up and take notice. This is precisely the case with Nihal Raj aka Kicha. This 6-year-old from Kochi can cook, bake and make popsicles like a professional. He also teaches other adults and children to bake and cook. Such has been his popularity that even Facebook has acquired non-exclusive rights of his Mickey- Mouse ice cream video by paying him US$2000.
Kicha has been enthusiastic about cooking since he was 5 and is always interest in cooking, helping and hanging around with his mother Ruby, a baker herself. Seeing his enthusiasm and impressed with the kid’s grasp over simple recipes and his ability to explain them on the fly without a script, his father, Rajagopal V. Krishnan, an advertising professional, created a YouTube channel for Kicha. Today, he is a cooking champion and has tutorial videos, with nearly 10,000 viewers. Until now, Kicha has featured in about 20 videos explaining process of making oatmeal cookies, strawberry coolers and even tandoori baby potatoes. The videos are made as and when Kicha feels like, without any pressure from his parents.
He studies at Choice School in Kochi and is curious about cooking all the time. Whenever, his family goes out to eat, he makes it a point to meet the chefs and learn more about the food served. Krishnan says, “We want our kids to play football or cricket or painting and enroll them in coaching classes, too. It’d be so much better to take into consideration the child’s interests before thrusting him or her into something they might not enjoy.”
Kicha and his parents have also donated part of his earnings from Facebook to autistic children in Kerala.
