    Pankaj.

The sound of military drum-beats opened the show with an army of ombré-black-Marsala-military-green clad models marching down the runway!

Everything we love about Pankaj and Nidhi has been elevated to a whole new level of sensuous finesse. Military-inspired clothing never looked better; princely tailored and layered attires, undeniably inspired from menswear, without substituting the feminine element that lies at the brand’s core values.

    Pankaj-Nidhi

Femininely sexy silhouettes in overlapping layers lent a seductive touch outlined with cuts borrowed from the men’s wardrobe.

Gold flat-faced buttons, embellished military rank badges, bold piping, exaggerated shoulders, embossing and appliqué work brought out the aristocratic element in pea coats, double breasted jackets, with embellishment-bordered pockets, flared pants, cape-style jackets, dual tone jumpsuits trailing into capes apart from an array of British army-inspired authoritative coats.

The strategically cut, classic pieces of this collection worked well when paired with shimmery coordinates or when rendered in sleek and innovative combinations of texture. Cut-out shoulders and bell sleeves lent attention to the arms.

Military rank-type brooches and medals adorned peaked caps, envelope clutches, round bags and backpacks, paired with fringed detailing appeared on tops and dresses and envelope clutches, giving them a more fluid appeal to beaded chains adorning sleeves.

Fabrics like heavy crepes, merino wool and grosgrain materials, washed in blues, military green, olive and ochre were used to create attires that remind you of the 18th and 19th century European cavalries, which reflected the pomp and splendor or martial dress codes.

A dose of romanticism was also in order at Pankaj and Nidhi’s collection tonight, following the military-inspired ensembles with a collection full of feminine evening wear, where embroidered and bejeweled elements ensued.

Pankaj and Nidhi’s models came marching in with the perfect military poise, their hair well secured under brooch-top caps, cascading in their dramatically stunning gowns and dresses that instantly got us in the mood to party! Sheer nets, decorated with dazzling embellishments, clubbed with the most sensible use of appliqué were seen alongside scalloped velvet, which brought out the elegant, old-school charm in modern silhouettes.

Each and every piece of clothing was remarkable, each detailed technique praise-worthy — each design displaying their unmatchable knack of combining feminine allure with fresh, fashion-forward concepts.
