Social distance social club

In the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic, we are seeing multiple brands and fashion labels come up with collections that encourage staying at home and staying safe.

As the focus shifts from brainless money-making tactics to a more ‘We are #InThisTogether’ approach, fashion brands are coming up with new and innovative ways to cater to the current unperceived demand by additionally donating a portion of sale money as proceeds to various institutions in need.

Here are a few brands championing such fashion and also promoting the early signs of an upcoming category of #homewear fashion.

Social Distance Social Club launches collection that promotes Staying At Home

SOCIAL DISTANCE SOCIAL CLUB

An offset of popular streetwear brand Anti Social Social Club, fashion label Social Distance Social Club has emerged in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spotting an opportunity during the present scenario, the Los Angeles-based streetwear brand has been especially created in order to target the Gen Z and millennial audience by sparking conversation and bringing awareness to the importance of social distancing.
The brand offers everything from t-shirts and hoodies to tank tops and face masks, all of which feature a simple and straightforward message: Social Distancing Saves Lives. The collection has proved to be a big hit with the brand launch being met with record-breaking sales.

US $ 5 from each sale is donated to support the World Central Kitchen’s COVID-19 relief programme.

Brainchild of reality television star Scott Disick, streetwear brand Talentless, which recently also went viral with its ‘Please Wash Your Hands‘ collection, has dropped an expansion to its collection with another COVID-19-inspired series.

Smartly dubbed as ‘Stay Home,’ the collection consists of t-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks and sweats, and features the phrase “I’m staying home” over the garments.

The collection includes pieces for both men and women with silhouettes that embrace a modern but chic aesthetic.

The brand’s new collection was launched to promote employment for all of Talentless staff—including those who work at production facilities, fabric mills, and distribution centres—during the pandemic.

UNDERCOVER launches Social Distancing tees

UNDERCOVER

In an effort to promote safe practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, fashion designer Jun Takahashi has dropped a new range of social distancing tees.

The range serves as an addition to his existing streetwear imprint UNDERCOVER and features a plethora of graphics that encourage social distancing.

The collection consists of five designs with black and white base foundations detailed with graphics borrowed from the brand’s design archives. Some of the graphics include the Tokusatsu-influenced Pyranoid and Underman characters staying a safe distance away from one another. Additional social distance-themed graphics include the Bear and Burger U with protective masks on as well as a comic strip graphic that features Grace and Grapie listening to a record.

Watch this space as we continue to update it with more fashion players entering this category.
