GrindrGrindr, the popular gay ‘dating’ app, is doing a lot more than just connecting boys looking for some fun — it’s launching its own clothing line..

On Monday, 15th August, Grindr dropped its very first athleisure-inspired line, ‘Grindr Varsity’. The brand first tried to break into fashion by live-streaming the Fall 2016 men’s wear show of J. W. Anderson, this February.

“Sport doesn’t discriminate.  All proceeds benefit ‘Athlete Ally’, a non-profit organization, dedicated to fighting homophobia and transphobia in sports.  #principle6 #grindrvarsity” as stated on their website.

According to the site, the pieces are made keeping in mind, ‘the guy who likes to break a sweat. . . and always makes it to the finish line’. The site is full of cheesy, tongue-in-cheek puns — but the clothes are total badass!

The Varsity Collection, as it’s called, is a full-range of menswear line, made in collaboration with printing design studio ‘Print All Over Me’. The collection celebrates ‘queer’ and is meant to upraise awareness of the way queer experience traverses sports.

The brand is offering small, affordable varieties of tops and bottoms in sportswear fabrics like mesh and nylon. Grindr is also branching out into swimwear (ahem, banana hammocks), wind-breaking outerwear and little patches and pins to accessorize with.

“The collection feels sexy, cheeky, fun, but in the end, all profits are going to an amazing group that helps athletes with issues the gay community faces, all around the world. It felt like a different way to approach sports, and every partner in the mix has been amazing,” said Landis Smithers, Creative Director, of Grindr. He further added, “As we keep evolving, we are looking for ways to combine things people enjoy, with ways to help the community globally.”

Grindr also says that all proceeds will go towards ‘Athlete Ally’, a non-profit organization that aims to fight homophobia and transphobia in the sports community.

Guys! Go grab a piece for your next work out sesh! We are excited!
