Flip-flops made out of factory excess!
Flip-flops made out of factory excess!
Sustainability has become the top priority for all manufacturers as they are being increasingly held responsible for managing waste.
In a circular take on tackling factory waste, Keen has introduced a new line of flip-flops that are made of factory scraps.
The sole of these flip-flops is made of waste scraps from the factory floor in their shoe manufacturing unit. The scraps are first collected and heated to soften them.
Once soft, these scraps are then compressed with 50 per cent unused rubber into a mould to make the soles. This gives the soles a colourful speckled design that makes them fun to wear.
Apart from that, the straps on the top of the sole are made from recycled plastic bottles, which make them even more environment-friendly. The soles are given an anti-odour treatment that involves natural probiotics instead of harmful chemicals.
The pair of flip-flops costs around US $ 70 and is available on their official website.
