For anyone who simply prefers not to be defined by their gender, then no more should you refer them with a title which they do not suggest. Since there has been a title offered to them – “Mx” (pronunced Mix). This gender neutral title have finally been introduced after it was first proposed in 1970s initiated by Oxford City Council. They were given the official support via an addition to Dictionary.com at the end of last year.
Androgynous Or Gender Neutrality is a new age phenomena that resonates with individual choice.
The title will be appearing alongside Ms, Mrs, Miss and Mr in a move by Oxford city councillors to be more inclusive of gender diversity. One of the biggest council in UK, these gender neutral title ‘Mx’ will be an option for people when they are filling out official paperwork.
Gender neutraility has been all the rage these days, with recent Europride which highlighted Homophobic countries through one of the gowns made of the country flags which depreciates the homosexuality.
With this move, there sure shall be a feeling of more inclusivity of the community and it is prompting to tackle discriminations against them. This is one of those practical move that steps to build a more acceptable world for the transgenders. The group told The Independent: “The council can take practical steps to build a workplace that’s friendlier to transgender employees, and how we gather together personal information on employees is central to that.”

It is currently a part of official structure in UK but surely an act which should be adopted by all the countries and make a Gender-Neutral country. According to Time, the etymology of Mx comes from the fusing the ‘M’ used in all traditional male and female titles, with an ‘x’ to denote the unknown, as used in mathematics.
